Happy Halloween

My favorite night of the year is less than 2 days away!  Every year I try to come up with something different and every year that we have been married my hubby comes up with a costume to some what match mine.  Here are a couple of costumes from Halloween’s past.

Zombie Hawk and his Bride.

My absolute fave costume that my hubby came up with has to be his Zombie Hawk costume that he wore for Halloween 2013 to match my costume.  We spent weeks trying to figure out how we were going to help him pull it off.  Let’s just say Thank You Ebay!  Lol

Halloween 2012

The Queen of Cards and her Cardinals Jester.

In 2012, the St. Louis Cardinals went to the World Series and the Final game was being played the same night as one of the Halloween parties that we were attending.  So since my hubby is a Huge Cardinals fan we decided to go with that same theme.. sort of.  Lol

We won the Halloween Costume Contest at the party we attended that night.

Another one of my Fave costumes was when i dressed up as a Naughty Little Red Riding Hood and My hubby was my Big Bad Wolf Pimp Daddy.

I still am undecided as to what Jason and myself will be dressing up as this year but whatever it is, it should be interesting!

Have a FUN but SAFE Halloween everybody!!

Ravenna, Italy 2014

Ravenna, Italy

With Jason racing in both the Mixed Standard and Open Small boat divisions, we were unable to do a lot of sight seeing while in Italy.  But on the one day that we were able to have some free time, we did get to check out downtown Ravenna.

Camera 360

The cobble stone streets, the colorful and historic architecture made me wish we had more free time to check out all of Italy!  Camera 360

I made the mistake of leaving my DSLR Camera in the room and only having my Samsung S4 with me, so I did not get to take as many photos as i would have liked and of course the battery on my S4 died early into our tour of dowtown.

I did my best to save enough battery life so I could get as much photos as I possibly could.

After 11 months of anticipation, the time had finally arrived, It was the morning of Sunday, August 31, 2014, Jason and I were getting ready to board the plane from Seattle, Washington to head to Ravenna, Italy to meet up and reunite with our Florida Dragon Boat Team, the Jax Fire Dragons, at the 9th Annual International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championships.

As we arrived in Italy the sun was starting to set, but from what we were able to see, the country side was beautiful, and by the time we got to our hotel all we wanted to do was get some rest.  But before we did we were able to meet up with our Coach and a couple of our fellow teammates and visited with them with enough time to find out what the game plan was for the morning.  After we got all the info we needed we headed back to our room and got our much needed rest.

Even though I was exhausted from our travels, I could not sleep a wink, I was just to excited to see everyone again and all i could do was just lay in bed anxiously waiting for the time to pass.  That morning, we met with our fellow Fire Dragons down in the lobby for breakfast, then loaded up our charter bus and off to the race venue we went.  The drive from our hotel was about 15 minutes to the venue and once we arrived there was a sea of Charter Buses lining the parking lot dropping off some of the other teams.  It all became real that were were at the Worlds and among the best of the best in the Dragon Boat community.

Dragons on the water

The weather was not to appealing for the first two days that we were there. It was raining and the wind was blowing so hard that the water conditions were so bad that they had to cancel the first day of team practices. Even though the weather was not any better the following day, all the teams were able to get out on the water and get their practice times done.

Practice

It was a long, wet, exhausting day and that was just our first day!

#StaySafeGuam

Thinking of and praying for all my Family and Friends back home on Guam and on Rota!! Both islands are in Typhoon Condition of Readiness 1 as Typhoon VongFong heads towards them. Hoping that they stay safe and there is very little damage done as the system passes through.
